Obama, Obama, Obama. That's how my perception of German media and the overall population looks like right now. Seems as if we've been darn lucky to score TWO private talks and ONE public speech with him. Our neighbors to the west and the northwest are a bit put off about that, but let's not worry about such issues right now. Though I have to admit not listening to the speech while it was held (instead, the politics-obsessed that I am, I went to a jazz concert), I did read it up afterwards and found it quite inspiring and containing many truths.
So this guy Obama appears to be the right one for filling the president's seat. Well then, can't wait for election day and I'm telling you, I KNOW where to put my cross on the ballot! But wait, I remember... I am neither a citizen of the US nor am I a US-citizen AND a registered voter. Coming to think of it, few Germans are... so why would everyone get so excited about this presidential candidate and why would 200.000 people come to Berlin to hear his speech live?
Maybe the answer is... hope.
