Horizontale 2009

Despite gloomy meteorological outlooks, a group of 4 MFers (plus 1 ahead MF us) set off bright and early to master this years hike. With the German lifeguarding competitions a mere 7 days away, I decided to take it easy this time and not participate in the 100k-hike, but limit myself to 35k. Good enough, and with regard to current temperatures in this corner of the globe, I am not very devastated about missing out on the long walk. :-P So here we were, walking in cold weather, occasionally mastering a soft drizzle, until finally, finally ALL came down. Blessed be the trees and underbrush, which shielded us from most of the rain. Still, a hot shower afterwards was very welcome and much appreciated.
