To top things off: we have snow. Yep. Here in Jena, where thanks to the omnipotent shell limestone the weather is usually a bit milder and nicer than in the surrounding regions and actually makes Jena the second warmest city in Germany. Having said that, it's quite amazing that this frosty winter has arrived even here. This night temperatures dropped down to -24 °C in Jena and even lower in some other places nearby. But all of this is served with a side dish of the most dazzling sunshine you could wish for. Actually, that's a combination that I dearly love - walking through crunching, powdery snow while trying not to shed too many tears while being dazzled by the sun. The only downside: there's no free weekend in the near future when I can spend a day or two in the mountains and tour the forests with my skies. Well... nothing is perfect and my time will come. ;-)
So for now, I'll leave you with some winter impressions from this corner of the globe:
I guess the sudden change in meteorological conditions took some people by surprise.
Another nice event last sunday: light installations on the city tower in the course of past year's "Science City" and the "LightGames":
So, how's your winter, folks?
