Had some happy holidays? As for me, I can say: Oh yes! ;-) Besides being able to finally walk normally again I have also regained my sense of taste. Well, just kidding, my friends. I didn't stuff myself that much over Christmas, although I did eat well in those days. At what other time in the year can you have meals with gorgeous ragout fin, freshly grilled trout, muscovy duck, deer (my mom's still stringent on that it was roe deer, while my dad also considers venison as a possibility) and dumplings in just one week? No wonder I had to have a number of digestivs just to help me get rid of all that good, but nonetheless hearty food. But well, maybe moving and standing around a bit also helps?
So I did... and went to the Expennälerball, the annual ball for all former students at my high school. Even though only 3 other former classmates showed up, I had a great time and we already made some
precise preliminary plans for our 10-year-reunion, which is supposed to take place in 2010. I know, those
compulsive-obsessive organized Germans, planning 1,5 years ahead in time. ;-) But what should we do about it? It's in our genes... I'm sure... never mind that Europe has never been strictly divided into different states with borders and frontiers fixed over time so that no mixing of genes and blood could take place. :-D But there has to be a reason for our planning-trait and it can't just be sole nurture. Or could it??? Anyways, the evening was great, we had some ideas how to go about getting just our class together and I might've already forgotten that.... now, where was I? Oh yeah, so that was that evening.
And now the year is almost over - there are less than 8 hours left of the grand year of 2008. So here's wishing all of you a great start into the New Year - enjoy the holidays, celebrate with your friends and may the next year be a great one for all of us!
Lotsa love,
Hanna
